U is for urgency
Miranda didn't think there'd ever be a time when she was with Andrea without a sense of urgency.
In the beginning, it had always been frantic, wild encounters, usually in public places, when they could physically no longer keep their hands off each other. They had to be quick to keep up appearances and not be caught.
Even now, when they slowed down, there was still a sense of urgency to Miranda. To have Andrea as much as she could, as long as she could, before she inevitably left her like all the others. Like she'd already done once before.
V is for vocal
Miranda was not a vocal person when it came to declarations of love. Andy always shrugged this off, saying she was vocal enough for the both of them, which was true. She might not have been vocal, but that didn't mean she didn't show her love in other ways.
To the girls 'I love you' was the fact that their mother came into their rooms every night, no matter how late, and kissed their foreheads.
To Andy, it was the way she said her name. Maybe for Miranda's former husbands that hadn't been enough. But for Andy, it was plenty.
W is for whisper
All her previous relationships had, in some way or another, started with raised voices. Her first husband had shouted his love for her from the rooftops, literally. Five years later, they'd been able to do nothing but shout.
Her second husband had yelled for her to hold the elevator. After him, she always rode elevators alone.
Stephen had been arguing politics with someone when he caught her eye. Soon all they did was argue.
But when Andrea leaned over and whispered in her ear, she knew something was different. This relationship was beginning with a whisper, instead of a shout.
X is for x-ray
The x-ray showed the broken bone as plain as day.
Miranda sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Did I, or did I not, object to the girls playing soccer because I knew that someone would get hurt?"
Andy had the decency to look sheepish. "Yes, Miranda, you did."
"Yeah, but, Mom-"
"No buts Cassidy."
Miranda turned back to Andrea. "I just never imagined when I predicted someone's injury that it would be yours, Andrea."
Andy turned red. "I was helping them practice. I couldn't just let Caroline get the goal that easily."
Miranda could only shake her head.
Y is for youth
Miranda frowned as she once again read an article in the newspaper talking about her 'midlife crisis' which had made her take an 'obscenely' younger, female lover.
Andy sighed. "Miranda? Do you think I'm too young for you?"
Miranda's eyes locked with hers. "They're-"
"No." Andy shook her head. "Not them. I don't give a damn what any of them think. I only care about what you think. Do you think I'm too young for you?"
Miranda considered for a moment. "Of course not."
"Good. Now," smiling, Andy grabbed the paper and threw it across the room, "forget about them."
Z is for zone
When Miranda entered the bedroom carrying the Book, Andy was waiting. She pulled the Book from Miranda's hands while kissing her.
"I've decided," she said against Miranda's ear, "to make this bedroom," her tongue flicked against one earlobe, "a no work zone."
Fingers opened buttons. "That means no Book."
Her shirt hit the floor. "No laptops."
Teeth skimmed her shoulder. "And no phone calls."
Her skirt joined her shirt. "Okay?"
Miranda gasped. "O-okay."
Andy's smile was wicked. "Good."
Later, she felt Miranda leave the bed. "Where're you going?"
"To the work zone."
Andy groaned. You win some, you lose some.

I love how you play with the intimacy and the reality within relationships and how things can seemingly start out one way and end up in an entirely different way altogether. You fill your writing with the crossroads we take in life and putting Miranda and Andy in that context really allows us to see portions of their lives we haven't considered before.
I love all of your drabbles. I'm glad that you've brought your creativity to this particular fandom. I hope to read more from you in the future. Continued success.
